Teddy
Teddy has already found his family.

M&W is a small, family-run home dedicated to Mila and Winston and the little ones they bring into the world. Every puppy is born underfoot, socialized from day one, and held more than we’d like to admit.
“Small home, small litters, lots of love.”
— M&W, Birmingham AL
Looking ahead
We plan our litters thoughtfully and rarely — only when Mila is ready and the timing fits our family. If you’d love to bring an M&W puppy into your home down the road, the kindest thing you can do is reach out early.
We share litter plans when we’re confident in them. Until then, we keep expectations honest — nature has her own calendar.
We keep our list small so every family gets real attention. Joining doesn’t commit you to a puppy — it just means you’ll hear from us first.
We’d rather take our time matching a puppy to the right family than rush placements. Expect a friendly conversation, not a transaction.
Interested?
No pressure and no commitment — we’ll write back and share what we know about what’s ahead.

Our puppies are not raised in a kennel or a separate room — they grow up in the middle of our daily life. They hear the dishwasher, the doorbell, kids’ voices, and footsteps on hardwood. By the time they go home with their families, the world is already familiar.
We keep things small on purpose. Small home. Small litters. Lots of one-on-one time. We’d rather know every puppy by their little personality than count them by the dozen.
Our puppies are born and raised inside our home, with people around them from the very first day.
Gentle handling, new sounds, soft textures, and lots of cuddles. We introduce the world slowly and warmly.
We tell you what we know and what we don’t. Owning a dachshund is a long, loving commitment — we want you to be ready.
Our parents are Embark health tested, giving families added confidence in the care and planning behind each litter.
Our puppies stay our puppies. We’re a text away long after they go home, for questions big and small.
Good things to know
A few of the questions families ask most often. If yours isn’t here, just ask — we’re happy to talk.
Yes. Mila and Winston are AKC registered miniature dachshunds, and their litters are AKC registered as well. We’re happy to talk through what paperwork is included when you reach out.
Send us a short message through the contact form below, or reach out by email. Tell us a little about your home, what you’re hoping for in a puppy, and whether you’ve lived with a dachshund before. We’ll write back and walk you through what’s realistic from our upcoming litters.
Ask anything — really. Common ones we like to talk through: what an average day looks like for the litter, how the puppies are socialized, what to expect in the first weeks at home, feeding and vet care, and what kind of ongoing support we offer. A good breeder should welcome questions, not deflect them.
We love meeting our families, but we keep visits limited and scheduled for the puppies’ health and stress. We’ll let you know when a visit is appropriate — usually after the puppies are a few weeks old — and we’ll share photos and short videos in the meantime.
Once you’re matched, we share regular photos, weight checks, and little personality notes as your puppy grows. You’re always welcome to ask for more — this part of the process is one of our favorites.
We’re based in Birmingham, Alabama. We prefer in-person pickup so we can meet you and walk you through everything in person. For families further away, we’re happy to talk through travel options together.
